On
Midday Monday, millions of people around the world tuned in to watch the
President and Vice President sworn into office. During this ceremony the
renewal of their oath and a nine-teen minute inaugural speech was delivered worldwide,
along with performances from various artists such as Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson.
Since this holiday only occurs once every four years, the inauguration was
expected to have plenty of publicity, celebrities, media coverage and an even
bigger crowd. But for those millions of people that cannot make it to
Washington D.C. or simply want to avoid traffic all together, that’s where
technology comes into play. Internet, radio, and T.V. stations were ready to
broadcast the 44th president of United States, President Barack
Obama for a 2nd term in office. With a live crowd cheering for President
Obama and Vice President Biden, everyone else can sit back and enjoy the show
live at home. News stations such as CNN, NBC, ABC, B.E.T, CBS, and many more
were recording a moment in history. If there were people that wanted live
coverage online, websites such as Whitehouse.gov were also broadcasting the
inauguration. In addition, New York Times and Whitehouse provided President Obama’s
Inaugural dialogue transcript for those who would rather read the context
during the Inaugural address. Media coverage was definitely up-to-date early
Tuesday morning to make sure no one missed a historic moment.
